Week 3.

This week, in our course I really like the activities.

The first session activity was a about thesis statements and I reinforced a lot this topic and Rocio and me did the activity that I published before. At first I though that the task was easy but is that kind of topics that you feel that you know but when you start to do it is challenging.

The second session, on Wednesday we did a review about conjunctive adverbs and how to use it as "nevertheless",  "however", "although",  "even though",  "in spite of", "despite" and even more that we had to use when we did the formar letter to some university that we were interested to do an exchange with.

I really liked this week because I was able to improve my grammars skills

Week 3.- Thesis statement

As a part of the class, today we had to give our opinion about some topics. Here are the thesis statements that Rocio and me did:

School uniforms
The school uniforms are necessary to gives an identity to the students because they feel as equals and they are part of the same community.

Your parents and trust
The relationships of trust between the parents and their children during the last years has been getting weaker as a consequences of the use of the technology because they get immersed in other reality

Drinking and driving
The main reason of death between teenagers is the combination of drinking and driving, and most of the times not only the drunk teenager is affected by the consequences such as…

Legalization of marihuana
A lot of people are against the Legalization of marihuana but it can be positive if is used to help people with cancer or other health issues.

Animal testing
The use of animals in testing is a very controversial topic because of the damage that all the products do to the animals.

Changing universities (going from one to another)
Changing universities as a consequence of the insecurity in different states is a difficult process in the students` life because they have to change all they know as their friends, teachers, and city.

Endangered species protection
The biosfera del Cielo in Gomez Farías is one of the biggest places of endangered species protection in Mexico where they have species as jaguar, different kinds of butterflies and plants.

Life on other planets
Life in other planets can help the human race to survive if we cant live in earth as a consequence of the contamination.

Art museums
The art museums a way to can meet the different ways to create, think or live in the world in the same place.

Nutritious food
The nutritious food can change your life positively because you will have a better health, less illnesses and more energy.

Living on campus
Living on campus has a lot of advantages like more security, less investment of time going from your house to your classroom and participate in more university activities.

Gambling
The adrenaline of gambling is not always brings benefits, it can also have disadvantages, such as lost your goods in the process such as you money, house or even your family.

The use of technology in language education
One of the best uses of the technology is the education as the language because you can improve your level practicing with different programs, doing activities or even talking with native speakers.

Week 2

The second week of this semester started to be more intense, just in english class we had:

A quiz about prefaces 1 and 2 of "English as a Global Language". The lecture was difficult so I had to read more than one time to prepare myself for the quiz although it was on team. I was with Rocio, she is on first semester of IIA. We though "the quiz will be just multiple choice" but we were wrong,
we had to write 300 words answering 3 questions about the prefaces. After the quiz we can stay to do our next activity or leave if you already finish it, I had been doing it at home so I went out.

The next activity was a essay of 500 words about any topic and you had to speak about it in front of the class like 3 o 4 minutes.

 First I choose to speak about "The other side of Africa", like show the good things there, as awesome natural places, or incredibles cities, but  was to hard find good sources for the essay so I had to changed to "The Asian Tigers" I already know about the topic and is easy to find pages how talk about it but wasn't the best topic to speak in public because is not a topic with you can feel related.

We had our presentations on Wednesday and Thursday, I really enjoy some because they speak with confidence.

Week 1

Well the school starts again...

After a exchange semester,  I'm happy to come back to my university. One of the classes that I'm taking is "Language and culture in the English speaking world", I'm really excited about it because I want to improve my skills in English and my general culture about the countries where this language is spoken.

As a part of my english class, We have to make a blog and every week write about what we are learning in this class.
